President - Lauren Bailey
Lauren is an undergraduate student pursuing her BSNE with an expected graduation date of May 2024. She previously served on the Executive Board of UNM's Institute for Nuclear Materials Management (INMM). She joined ANS because she thought it was a great opportunity to get involved with facilitating interest and education in nuclear science for both those at UNM and the local community. She is excited to take on the role of President and become more involved with ANS as it is an exciting chance to collaborate through outreach and preserve the positive impact that the UNM Student Section has had over the years. |
Treasurer - Rowdy Davis, MSNE
Rowdy is currently a Ph.D. student. He received his BS and MS of Nuclear Engineering from UNM in 2020 and 2021. He joined ANS in 2016 because he wanted to help educate the public on the benefits of nuclear energy and research. He felt that the benefits of nuclear engineering were misunderstood and understated and wanted to see a change in that on the national level. |
Internal Communications Officer - Richmond McDonald
Richmond is an undergraduate student pursuing his BSNE, with an expected graduation date in 2024. He joined ANS to stay connected and up to date with the nuclear community to be informed of what's happening and meet fellow people interested in the nuclear field. |
Policy and Outreach Officer - Josephine Lewis
Josie is pursuing a BSNE with an expected graduation date of 2024. She initially attended UNM and received her Bachelors degree in Global and National Security Studies (GNS) in 2020. She joined ANS because of her passion for the future of nuclear energy through the intersection of science and people/ She is excited to be a part of the UNM ANS chapter to continue to learn more about nuclear science with her fellow ANS student members and to help continue ANS's efforts in nuclear advocacy and education at UNM. |

Faculty Advisor - Dr. Christopher M. Perfetti
Dr. Perfetti joined ANS in 2005 (AD or BC? he can't remember...) because he was interested in public outreach and dispelling myths about nuclear power. Since joining, he has met and learned from scientists and engineers from across the world, and has made many lasting friendships. Dr. Perfetti has served as the chair of the ANS Trinity Local section and has played key roles in other ANS National Divisions like NCSD and M&C. |
